Part‑Time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) – Night Shift, 1st floor Cardiac/Neuro Med Surg unit, West Chester Hospital, West Chester, OH, United States Job Summary The Health Unit Coordinator provides clerical support to the clinical team, transcribes physician orders, maintains patient medical records, and facilitates communication among patients, staff, and other departments. Responsibilities Accurate transcription of physician orders and notification of any STAT orders to nurses Enter orders and requisitions into the electronic system and forward to appropriate departments Schedule diagnostic tests and manage chart documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges Multitask during high‑activity periods and maintain phone etiquette, including answering calls and paging staff Serve as a receptionist, greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff, and manage critical test results communication Assemble and maintain patient charts, include prompt addition of reports, and facilitate transfer to medical records Perform courier duties, complete admission/transfer/discharge logs, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment Assist with unit statistics, quality improvement data, and orient/mentor new personnel or volunteers Apply HIPAA compliance when handling patient information Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college or vocational training preferred 1–2 years of customer service experience Initiative and self‑starter with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic database use Strong time‑management and multitasking skills in a demanding environment Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Completion of mandatory unit‑specific, hospital, and safety education annually BLS certification (or ability to receive training during orientation) Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Employee Paid Short‑ and Long‑Term Disability 401(k) Tuition Reimbursement Opportunities Community Discounts Unit Details Many opportunities for professional growth and cross‑training UC Health is an EEO employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
