This is a key role within the Finance organization that will also be responsible for ensuring the proper controls and policies are in place to help support AspenTech’s growth structure. Based in Bedford, MA, you will have the opportunity to interact with all Finance functions as well as other groups cross functionally within the Quote-to-Cash process.Your ImpactMaintain revenue recognition policy for all revenue streams (License, Maintenance, Professional Services, SaaS) in accordance with ASC 606Become the subject matter expert for all revenue recognition, accounts receivable and contract asset/liability related activitiesReview the revenue determinations that are made on customer contractsManage the Revenue Operations team and all related activities including ensuring that all monthly and quarterly close activities are completed timely and in accordance with company policiesPartner with Commercial Finance and Sales to help structure customer contracts to achieve desired financial outcomesContinuously assess and develop internal control structure to ensure accuracy in reported revenue and contract asset/liability balancesIdentify opportunities for system enhancements and participate in related changes to address efficiencies in revenue related processesEnsure that monthly, quarterly and transaction-based revenue controls are completed and reviewed in a timely manner in accordance with company SOX documentationWork cross functionally with other departments to help structure customer arrangements and to ensure compliance with internal controls and policiesLiaise with auditors to address technical accounting and other audit mattersParticipate in the drafting of memos to address revenue recognition matters for complex customer arrangementsAssist other Finance teams in creating and delivering financial metrics and revenue reports to support reporting for forecasts, actuals and tax-related mattersBe responsible for the reconciliation all GL accounts related to revenue in addition to preparing monthly fluctuation analysisAssist with the implementation of acquired business units into the company’s processes/systemsWhat You'll NeedCPA preferred with experience at a Big 4 or next tier public accounting firmSignificant knowledge of ASC 606 and all related guidance regarding revenue recognition in a high-tech software companyUnderstanding of the requirements of SOX in a public company environmentAbility to work and communicate effectively with peers and management up to Executive level, particularly with regard to complex customer negotiations and arrangementsExperience working with sales organizations and customers in a high pressure, fast paced environmentVery strong written and oral communication skillsExperience with Oracle Financials and Zuora a plus10 + years of relevant accounting and revenue recognition experience7 years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skills#LI-DW1The salary range for this role is $154,200.00 - $192,800.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay.
