Sourcing Manager, Datacenter and Optical Hardware (Starlink) Redmond, WA SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery of datacenter and optical networking hardware for our Points of Presence (PoPs) and datacenters. In this role, you will own end-to-end sourcing and procurement for critical datacenter and optical hardware. You will build strategic supplier partnerships, negotiate high-impact agreements, accelerate delivery timelines, actively manage inventory, and continuously optimize for cost, quality, speed, and supply chain resilience. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, possesses strong commercial acumen, and has a proven ability to deliver results in datacenter or high-scale infrastructure procurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Negotiate creative, flexible, and commercially strong agreements (including maintenance, repair, and sparing programs) with suppliers of datacenter and optical hardware. Partner closely with engineering, network planning, and operations teams to align sourcing strategies with technical requirements and deployment timelines. Lead supplier onboarding, qualification, development, and performance management while identifying cost‑saving opportunities, mitigating risks, and driving continuous commercial and operational improvements. Own procurement execution to ensure on‑time delivery of hardware while meeting or beating budget targets. Drive standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and workflows. Set and deliver aggressive targets for cost optimization, supplier performance, delivery speed, and quality in support of global infrastructure growth. Build strong cross‑functional relationships and foster a high‑performance culture focused on results and continuous improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience working in one or more of the following fields: Hardware or product management Engineering Procurement Supply chain management Strategy and operations Technology

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Self‑starting, able to identify areas for improvement with minimal direction Experience in managing technical or construction projects from beginning to end Ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills Experience or interest in data analysis, data visualization, and/or financial analysis Demonstrates commitment to SpaceX’s goals of reusability, renewability, and sustainability

Must be willing to work long hours and occasional weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay range: Sourcing Manager: $115,000.00-$150,000.00 per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long‑term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
