Build the Recruiting Engine for a Growing Home Services Company

A&A Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has the budget, the growth plan, and the opportunity to expand—but continued growth depends on hiring the right people at the right time.

Today, recruiting is handled alongside the General Manager’s day-to-day operational responsibilities. We are ready to change that.

We are looking for a Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Specialist to build and lead our recruiting function from the ground up. You will own the hiring process from beginning to end, supporting positions ranging from skilled field technicians and apprentices to office professionals and department leaders.

This is not a role where you will inherit a fully developed recruiting system. You will create it.

What You’ll Own During Your First Year

Build and Manage the Hiring Pipeline

Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates to support the company’s growth goals, including:

· Plumbing and HVAC technicians

· Installers and apprentices

· Customer service and office professionals

· Accountants, marketing professionals, and other specialized roles

· Department managers and leadership-level positions

You will prioritize positions that directly affect revenue, capacity, and operational performance.

Create the Recruiting Process

Build a practical, repeatable recruiting system that includes:

· Job posting and outreach templates

· Candidate screening and interview processes

· Recruiting timelines and hiring workflows

· A sourcing strategy tailored to skilled trades, office positions, and leadership searches

· A simple applicant tracking and reporting system that gives the General Manager clear visibility into hiring activity

Source Candidates Proactively

Successful recruiting in the skilled trades requires more than posting a job and waiting for applications.

You will actively identify, contact, and build relationships with candidates through:

· Direct outreach

· Employee referrals

· Trade schools and technical programs

· Industry relationships

· Online recruiting platforms

· Community partnerships

· Professional networking

Advise the General Manager

Serve as the General Manager’s trusted resource on recruiting activity, candidate quality, and hiring risk.

You will translate the company’s growth budget into an actionable hiring plan, provide regular pipeline updates, and identify potential delays before they affect revenue or operations.

· Communicate clearly with hiring managers and company leadership

· Are organized, responsive, and comfortable tracking recruiting activity and results

· Can identify hiring risks and recommend solutions before positions remain open too long

· Work well with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment

Success in this position will include:

· Filling priority positions within agreed-upon timelines

· Building reliable candidate pipelines for recurring field roles

· Improving candidate quality and hiring consistency

· Reducing the amount of recruiting work handled by the General Manager

· Creating clear visibility into open positions and recruiting progress

· Supporting the company’s revenue and growth goals through timely hiring

· Developing a professional candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding handoff
