Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an Illinois RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 5 days per week (40 hours)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
• Performs patient identification, timeouts, and safety checks throughout the surgical process
• Positions and preps patients for procedures using appropriate aides and guidelines
• Supports the surgical team during procedures, responding to requests for supplies, specimens, or medications
• Provides handoff communication to receiving RN when transporting patients to PACU or other units
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care provided
• Offers peer feedback and participates in ongoing professional development
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within a 13-week contract
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
