The trader will join our municipal bond trading team. The position requires knowledge of fixed income investing and trading, analytical skills, an entrepreneurial approach to solving problems, a commitment to collaboration, and effective communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a municipal bond trading team that touches multiple vehicles and strategies (Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMAs, Systematic) The role will require you to apply your market, technical and investment skills to evolve our trading practices and ensure efficient implementation of investment decisions.The Value You DeliverCollect, organize, and disseminate market and trading information to the investment teamWork closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and fellow traders construct relative value trade ideasMaintain strong dealer relationships (sales, trading, and syndicate). Negotiate and execute trades on behalf of our portfolios, achieving best execution for clientsLeverage technical skills to find ways to scale the investment process and execution capabilities in the pursuit of contributing to alpha generationKeep pace with the evolving market structure to refine our electronic trading approach, strategy, and tacticsActively work alongside fellow traders, quantitative analysts, and developers in advancing our systematic trading strategies and mechanicsLiaise with Technology, Compliance, Legal, Operations and other internal Fidelity partners to mitigate operational risk and drive process efficiencyHelp define the business requirements for enterprise technology applications to be used by the trading teamThe Experience and Skills You BringBachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plusDemonstrated experience in fixed income investing/tradingEntrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for solving complex problemsAbility to work in team environment and be an adaptable self-starterStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe GroupFidelity’s Fixed Income division is one of the leading managers of bond and money market instruments with over $2 trillion in fixed income assets. The Fixed Income division is headquartered / located primarily in Merrimack, New Hampshire, one hour north of Boston.Fidelity’s Onsite Working ModelFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
