Engineering Technologist

Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technologist for a contract opportunity with our client in Asheville, North Carolina . Overview Join a dynamic team supporting utility distribution design work, field inspections, engineering design, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform field inspections and gather data to develop electrical design work packages. Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews. Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design. Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and other stakeholders. Review work provided by clients and assess scope requirements. Travel locally and regionally up to 80% of the time to collect field data. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher in engineering technology or related field preferred. Willingness to perform both field and office work. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work outdoors in various environments. Valid US driver’s license required for local and regional travel. Preferred Qualifications Power/utilities industry experience. Previous experience with field data collection.
