Job Title: Plant Manager
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager II to lead operations at a high-volume aggregate production facility producing crushed stone, sand, and gravel. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, and achieving production, quality, and financial performance targets.
The Plant Manager II provides both strategic and hands-on leadership across complex, multi-site operations. This includes full oversight of the production lifecycle—from site development and drilling/blasting through to final product distribution—while managing a diverse team of both hourly and salaried employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing all relevant regulatory and internal safety standards, with a focus on achieving zero incidents. Lead safety meetings and conduct regular site inspections.
- Foster a culture of shared accountability where employees take ownership of their own safety and that of their colleagues.
- Ensure full compliance with all environmental permits and regulatory requirements (air, water, and land reclamation).
- Oversee daily plant operations, including crushing, washing, and screening processes, optimising throughput and minimising downtime.
- Develop and implement both short- and long-term mining and production plans, including stripping and reclamation activities.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure all products meet required industry and regulatory specifications, addressing any quality concerns promptly.
- Manage operational budgets with a focus on cost efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Support capital investment planning and oversee the execution of plant upgrades and equipment installations.
- Coordinate inventory management and collaborate with commercial teams to align production with market demand.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability and uptime.
- Plan and execute major shutdowns for maintenance and repairs, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and operational staff, including performance management and training initiatives.
- Act as a key representative for our client within the local community and with regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience within aggregate or similar heavy industrial operations
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Understanding of aggregate processing equipment and site development
- Mechanical aptitude, including maintenance and repair practices

Compensation & Benefits
Our client offers a competitive base salary in the range of $125,000 – $185,000, depending on experience, location, and market conditions. This role is also eligible for a performance-based bonus program.
