Travel Cath Lab RN Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Wichita, Kansas Duration: 13‑week travel assignment As a member of the Fusion team, you will provide specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. You will prepare patients for procedures, assist during interventions, and monitor post‑procedure recovery while working closely with cardiologists and the cath lab team. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Cath Lab RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification Current ACLS Certification Preferred Qualifications PALS or ENPC Certifications RCIS certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediate post‑procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards. Essential Work Functions Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams Assist in positioning patients properly and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are correctly placed Assist physicians during procedures, including catheter, wire, balloon, stent, structural heart device placement, and other interventions Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to recovery Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures Support post‑procedure care, monitoring recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring proper function and that supplies are stocked Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move around, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while presenting a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills Must be able to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment Mental Requirements Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently Must be able to handle irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail Sensory Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1,560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
