Denver Center For The Performing ArtsThe Denver Center Theatre Company, a division of The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is accepting applications for temporary positions in the area listed below on an ongoing basis. Please note that temporary positions are only available during our season, which run July through May. Resumes are reviewed as positions become available and are added to our call list for contact as needed. An interview process is typically not required/offered. Demand for these positions varies from production to production and from season to season. Positions vary in terms of both required experience and length of commitment, and are paid on an hourly basis.Scene Shop Overhire Carpenter : Construction, load-in and strike callsPaint Shop Overhire : Paint all finishes for theatrical scenery per scenic designer's specificationsCarpentry general skills and responsibilities may include:Theatrical carpentry skillsAbility to read/interpret blueprintsMechanical aptitudePhysical ability to lift and hold 50 poundsPaint Shop general skills and responsibilities may include:General knowledge of theatrical paint techniques and faux finishesMatch and mix paint colors from renderings and research imagesGeneral knowledge of various brushes, sprayers, and other paint toolsPhysical ability to lift and hold 50 poundsWorking Conditions:Ability to work in loud and dusty environmentsWorking on hands and kneesWorking at heights and from laddersCandidate may be asked to wear a respirator (fit test will be provided)Compensation$23.50 hourlyBenefitsOccasional positions include the following benefits:Sick time accrualsThe DCPA does not require applicants to disclose age, date of birth or dates of attendance and/or graduation from an educational institution in their application for employment.
