HRSG Application Engineering Technical Leader

Job Description Summary This role demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and company objectives related to HRSGs. Responsibilities include integrating engineering solutions to meet customer requirements, leading long‑term planning with EAE resources across America, managing complex assignments with high business impact, and contributing to overall strategy. Essential Responsibilities Responsible for the technical content of proposals for GE Combined Cycle power plant configuration, working with Commercial Operations, Product Engineering, and Product Management to win profitable projects. Perform assignments independently, requiring guidance only on unusual or complex problems. Work closely with cross‑functional teams on introduction of new NPI features and products to increase HRSG competitiveness. Provide oversight, direction, and routine surveillance to ensure global HRSG AE team success and quality of proposals. Lead ITO related interactions with pre‑ITO, Product Line, Product Engineering, OTR teams and global HRSG AE team. Partner with EAE resource managers in developing HRSG AEs and providing feedback. Assist resource managers with allocation of proposal workload, maintaining awareness of team strengths and capabilities worldwide. Define proposal strategy for HRSG and related equipment on complex and large projects. Establish and provide technical training and development for the global HRSG AE team. Mentor less‑experienced engineers. Lead process, tool, and method improvements to drive quality and productivity across the global HRSG AE team. Use expertise to market winning proposals anticipating business product needs. Provide technical review, comments, and consultation to customers and internal GE team regarding HRSG scope. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge/experience. Significant experience in design engineering and/or application engineering (+10 years in Equipment Application Engineering, +5 years in HRSG). Extensive experience working with customers on combined cycle power projects. Experience in HRSG value creation: performance/design optimization, cost‑out program, ITO process/tools improvement, quoting limits, product structuring, carbon capture NPI program, etc. Proven relationships with customers in North America. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with exposure to site‑oriented operations such as HRSG erection and maintenance in front of customers. Desired Characteristics Knowledge in Commercial Operations, Application Engineering, and Requisition Engineering processes (New Product Introduction, Inquiry to Order, Order to Requisition). Experience with HRSG inquiry to order or order to requisition heat balance diagrams/thermal design, sizing, and optimization. Design of HRSGs and associated equipment for combined cycle power plants. Understanding of technical requirements for combined cycle plants, HRSGs, and associated equipment. Ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that advance business knowledge. Problem analysis and resolution skills. Leadership in defining state‑of‑the‑art HRSG practices, with ability to teach and set internal and external standards. Benefits Relocation assistance provided.
