PRODUCTION PLANNER

Primary Duties: Responsible for the development of the production schedule and manufacturing plan consistent with finished product demand, resource availability, and inventory level objectives.Optimizes resource planning operations through reduced set ups, family scheduling, etc.Schedules the production of material through the plant to meet customer requirements and maintain inventory levelsProvide information to and coordinates with Purchasing Department to aid in the schedule for consumption of component parts and glassMaintains open communication with customers, manufacturing and support personnel, and subcontractors to assure manufacturing plans are clearly understood and fulfilledCoordinates with Maintenance and Engineering for scheduled down-time, PMs, equipment upgrades, etc.Assists in coordinating engineering changesParticipates in new product development programsInterfaces with NMI/GSC and schedules pre-customer release development runsMaintains accurate records and documentation for history and audit purposesSupports departmental activities by serving as backup for other Materials positions as required.Prepares and publishes daily and weekly schedulesDevelops 12 week plan by part numberMaintains updated procedures in support of Pilkington Quality System RequirementsProvides assistance to Purchasing to determine material usage per part for annual blanket order estimationReview work in process material status on production floorConduct daily scheduling meetingsMinimizes/eliminates obsolete materialParticipates in monthly/annual physical inventoriesVerifies Bill of Material and Routing accuracyMaintains the Material Master recordsOn call 24/7 to respond to customer and scheduling questionsConducts all business affairs in accordance with Pilkington’s business philosophy and Standards of Business ConductResponsible for following the Environmental, Quality, and Safety policies.Other duties as assignedAdherence to NSG Standards of Business Conduct and it’s Values and PrinciplesThis position is focused on production scheduling and planning within a manufacturing environment. Candidates whose primary experience is in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, logistics coordination, or supply chain analytics without direct production planning responsibility may not be a strong match for this role. Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered3 or more years of hands-on experience in production planning, production control, manufacturing scheduling, or materials planning in a manufacturing environmentExperience developing and maintaining production schedules in a high-volume manufacturing operation.Experience utilizing SAP, ERP, MRP, or similar planning systemsWorking knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, and manufacturing operations. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
