Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient by collaborating with patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status for the Initial Team Conference and Re-evaluation Team Conferences weekly.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit, utilizing the nursing process in delivering direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to maintain continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs such as necessary supplies and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Prioritize activities for effective time and staff management in meeting patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience Required
