Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The DSP will assist individuals with intellectual disabilities, in a one-on-one setting, to reach their individualized goals. Services can take place in the individual’s home or in the community. This position requires all candidates to have a working vehicle, up to date vehicle documents and a valid driver’s license. Use of personal vehicle required for community outings. Responsibilities Assist with daily living tasks such as hygiene, meal preparation, and transportation Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills Implement individualized care plans and document progress Assist with medication administration as needed Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities Requirements Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid auto registration and insurance Ability to pass State, Federal, and drug tests Completion of required DSP training Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and patient demeanor CPR and first certification required Ability to lift/push/pull 30 lbs Additional Requirements for Behavioral Cases Experience with ABA-based interventions Data collection and reporting skills (Boggs Center PBIS training or equivalent training preferred) Why Join Us?
