Civil Engineer P.E.

We are a leading industrial metals solutions company. We operate using a circular manufacturing model, producing lower-carbon-emission, quality products with recycled scrap as the primary input. We are one of the largest domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in North America, combined with a meaningful downstream steel fabrication platform. Job Duties and Responsibilities Design structural steel and connections to applicable codes and standards. Become conversant in AISC, AISI, SJI, and SDI codes and specs. Interpret contract documents and communicate with Architects/Engineers of Record/Fabricators on product design requirements. Provide engineering direction to our detailing, design, sales, and production departments. Design open web steel joists, girders, and steel decking according to the Steel Joist Institute and Steel Deck Institute standards. Roof/floor designs for projects including Retail Buildings, Schools, Warehouses, etc. Review and seal calculations for submittal. Required B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent for Civil P.E. qualification. Good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Prior steel joist industry or structural steel design experience. Minimum Civil E.I.T. certification with a desire to become a Civil P.E.
