Position summary Applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Compensation Compensation for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. Review routine tests performed by contractor on concrete, soils, water pressure, and other items for accuracy and completeness Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Verify construction material deliveries for compliance with contract submittals, specs, and drawings Produce and maintain record documents during course of construction Makes field notes and computations during course of construction Develops and delivers accurate and detailed daily field reports for review by the project manager for submission to the client Photograph construction progress Review surveying stakeout and cut sheets throughout construction Review contractor pay applications for work-percent complete and general accuracy Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Computer Proficiency Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience) 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience Preferred Experience Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Water/Wastewater construction or inspection experience Working Conditions Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
