Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.

This hands-on role captures meaningful moments, shapes stories, and creates content that connects emotionally, builds trust, and strengthens online community across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. The Content Creator supports The Crossing's digital presence by sharing compelling stories of what God is doing in and through the church and helping people take their next step toward Jesus.

The right person is comfortable behind a camera, inside design and editing software, and writing engaging social-media copy. They can work independently, collaborate well with others, and bring creative ideas that support the direction of the Art Director and the broader Communication Team.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Capture photo and video content during weekend services, weekday events and classes, and special church events.
• Edit engaging, authentic, and timely videos and photos; create digital graphics, sermon quotes, event promotions, and web or email assets; and write copy for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Art Director, Communication Team, Creative Team, and ministry leaders on projects, videos, campaigns, and storytelling ideas; contribute concepts for recurring content series, social trends, video formats, and other digital content opportunities.
• Proactively pitch and execute creative ideas that highlight testimonies, ministry impact, church life, events, and community; write clear, captivating messages that reflect The Crossing's voice and tone.
• Research industry trends, popular topics, keywords, and content formats; recognize what content is performing well and help strengthen The Crossing's digital presence across social platforms.
• Schedule and publish approved content, respond professionally and promptly to comments and direct messages, and review web traffic, user engagement, views, and other performance data to help identify what is working best.
• Assist the larger Creative Team on video shoots.

Necessary Skills and Abilities

• Ability to create engaging digital content, including video, reels, stories, photography, graphics, captions, and other social-media content.
• Proficiency with design and editing tools such as Canva, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar software, with the ability to create content efficiently and meet quick-turnaround needs.
• Strong storytelling and written-communication skills, including the ability to write clear, engaging copy that reflects The Crossing's unique voice and tone.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage a content calendar, meet publishing deadlines, keep multiple moving pieces on track, and maintain organized digital files and assets.

Education/Training & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, digital media, graphic design, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• One to three years of experience in digital marketing, social-media management, communications, content creation, journalism, photography, videography, or a related field preferred.
• A portfolio or collection of previous videos, articles, social-media posts, graphics, photography, or other relevant content is required.
