Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer to join its IT organization. This is a hybrid role that will bridge responsibilities across the desktop support and infrastructure functions, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who has strong end-user computing expertise but also possesses a broader infrastructure and systems mindset.The Senior Desktop Engineer will have a strong desktop/end-user technology focus, supporting the deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and ongoing management of endpoint environments. This individual will work across functional teams and serve as a senior technical resource for complex desktop and infrastructure-related issues.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and other end-user technologies. Lead and support desktop deployments, upgrades, configurations, and endpoint lifecycle management. Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and system-related issues that extend beyond traditional help desk support. Partner with infrastructure and IT teams on projects involving desktop systems, networks, servers, applications, and other enterprise technologies. Assist with endpoint security, patching, configuration, and system administration. Support and improve IT processes, documentation, and service management practices. Utilize ServiceNow for incident, request, and asset management. Act as a senior escalation point for desktop and end-user technology issues. Participate in infrastructure and technology projects as needed. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure reliable and secure technology environments for end users. What We're Looking ForStrong experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, or senior-level IT support. Experience supporting Windows environments and enterprise end-user computing technologies. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and related infrastructure. Experience with desktop deployments, imaging, patching, configuration management, and endpoint administration. Ability to work beyond traditional desktop support and understand how endpoint environments interact with broader infrastructure. Experience with ServiceNow or another ITSM platform. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple IT teams. Self-directed, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of complex technical issues. Ideal BackgroundThe ideal candidate will be someone who sits between a Senior Desktop Engineer and Infrastructure Engineer — a hands-on technical professional who is highly comfortable in the desktop/end-user environment but has enough infrastructure knowledge to troubleshoot beyond the endpoint and collaborate effectively with infrastructure teams.This is not a traditional Tier 1/2 desktop support role.
