INSTALLATION MANAGER-ELECTRIC UTILITY

Installation Manager-Electric Utility Location: Hill Air Force Base, UT City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable and responsive private Utility Development Leader, and we’re looking for an Installation Manager forour Hill Air Force Base, UT location. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the United States, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems, as well as outdoor street, sport, and other recreational lighting. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen. Our Installation Managers are the face of CLP at each of our client locations across the country. This position is responsible for overseeing the transmission, substation, and distribution delivery functions that include engineering, operations, planning, overhead and underground field service crews, and electrical substation and testing crews at their location. The position is accountable for all aspects of the installation’s projects and their success. Duties and Responsibilities Represent CLP as the Sr. Manager at the installation site and is responsible for all aspects of the utility privatization contract. Communicate with owners, architects, and subcontractors to chart out program objectives and plans. Ensure the Base Commander receives the highest level of service. Create the site teams, develop objectives/goals, and assign individual responsibilities. Perform as the Point of Contact for Union IBEW Workers. Understand project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses and minimizing exposure and risk. Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards. Develop an understanding of the customer’s culture, key people and processes and promote excellent relations. Submit Request for Information (RFI) to customer. Understand and monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines. Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders. Follow up at project end to close any loops in the estimating process. Approve procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for CLP at the site. Prepare annual revision to 5-Year Capital Improvement/Repair & Replacement Plan. Present it to the customer. Hold weekly meetings with the General/Crew Foreman to review projects. Attend all meetings with customer officials. Review maintenance activities weekly. Resolve QA/QC issues. Review and approve look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field required. Seven to ten (7-10) years of experience in the utility industry with knowledge of electric distribution, transmission and substation projects is required. Experience in program/project management with an understanding of blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services. Prior military service with installation management/construction engineering experience is a plus. Experience with CLP may be substituted for any of the required qualifications. Ability to understand construction schedules in Microsoft Project. Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills. Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish. Work Authorization and Clearance You must be a U.S. citizen. You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Clearance. A valid driver’s license is required, and meets the CLP Fleet Policy. Compensation & Benefits CLP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, paid time off, and holidays. Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 depending on experience. plus eligibility to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
