Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Technician | Emergency | 1st or 2nd shift available | 3 shifts per week | Rotating weekends | $20-30/hr | Full-Time Benefits | Ozaukee, WI Schedule and Compensation Full‑time: 1st shift 8 am–5 pm (3 days a week) and every other weekend; 2nd shift 4 pm–1 am (3 days a week) and every other weekend. Wage range $20–30 per hour, commensurate with experience. Shift differentials: $3 /hr 4 pm–midnight, $5 /hr midnight–6 am. Holidays may be required. Hiring bonus: $1,000 for Certified Veterinary Technician, $500 for Experienced Veterinary Assistant. Experience Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician welcomed. Strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in technician protocols. Reliability and follow‑through with all work‑related tasks and projects. Fluent English (speaking & reading) required; additional languages a plus. Responsibilities Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity. Provide support to veterinarians and assist other departments as requested. Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care, including critical care patients. Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring. Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing (blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, free‑catch urine). Perform laboratory procedures such as blood typing, cross‑matching, and slide agglutination testing. Accurately take and process radiographs (abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, skull) while following radiation safety protocols. Properly use and maintain medical equipment. Provide professional client communication. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain client and patient confidentiality. Meet or exceed performance standards for quality and productivity.
