Senior Production Underwriter

Position Summary The Senior Production Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and marketing accounts across approved states and territories. This role is integral to Amynta Dealer Solutions’ production underwriting capabilities, owning the results of their book of business and engaging in risk selection and customer service activities. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Own the results of your book of business and be compensated on annual and long‑term profitability. Maintain a balance between distribution and risk selection to drive profitable growth. Understand how your book fits into the broader portfolio strategy. Develop and maintain agent/broker relationships. Generate submissions and maintain relationships with assigned agents. Works with key internal stakeholders to develop and maintain product‑specific business development plans, identify, segment, detail, and evaluate potential broker and agent prospects, and execute plans to achieve target growth and hit ratios. Lead broker market education on products, highlighting competitive differentiation and service‑led solutions to facilitate new business placement. Raise Amynta Dealer Solutions’ profile within the broker community to build strong, productive relationships. Track metrics around broker engagements, maintaining actions and follow‑ups from visits, and share client and broker feedback with stakeholders. Ensure front‑of‑mind visibility with brokers through regular virtual or face‑to‑face meetings and serve as a contact point for broker queries and product education via appropriate communication channels. Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio, structuring tailor‑made solutions that consider underwriting parameters and leverage experience to win new business and retain existing customers. Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios per contract, taking corrective measures as needed to ensure long‑term profitability at the account level. Evaluate appropriate risk premiums by considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure, and underwriting and general administration costs to ensure profitability. Comply with underwriting control standards for business written through delegated authority. Engage with leadership at all levels to solve problems. Assist in developing internal and external materials. Support business unit leadership with presentations and special projects as Centers of Expertise or as assigned. Basic and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of commercial underwriting experience or equivalent work experience. Proven sales results and client‑service experience. Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, processes, and practice. Extensive experience in the insurance industry, ideally within underwriting, broking, relationship management, or sales. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail. Individually accountable with a customer‑focused approach. Effective relationship‑management skills. Ability to develop tactical underwriting plans and execute them. Active listening and emotional intelligence. Capacity to work independently for significant periods. Strong business‑development and communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Time‑management skills to meet deadlines and sales targets. Property & Casualty agent’s license in resident state or willingness to obtain CPCU, AU‑M, CIC designations (a plus). Willingness and ability to travel for agency visits, industry functions, training, and seminars. Commitment to continuing education to maintain necessary credentials. Self‑motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and problem‑solving focused.
