POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time temporary position with AANP that will intern and provide support in the areas of Finance and Conference.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This position can be either fully onsite or hybrid in the Austin, Texas National Headquarters office.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You are expected to perform the following essential responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation. The position may include other responsibilities as assigned.

• Processes National Conference speaker reimbursement requests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Reviews speaker reimbursement requests for proper approvals and compliance with Finance expense reimbursement policies.
  • Matches reimbursement requests with speaker agreements to ensure request is correct.
  • Attaches related speaker documentation to reimbursement request and submits the information to Finance team for payment processing.
  • Responds to customer inquiries related to reimbursements.
• Works with Conference team to resolve any reimbursement request discrepancies identified by Finance team as needed prior to payment.
• Shadows or trains with the Accounting and Finance team for month end close, accounts payable and receivable, conference invoice reconciliations, and the 990 process where time is available.
• Assists Accounting and Finance to test new Salesforce Association Management System (AMS) as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required:

• Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in the Accounting or Finance field of study.

Experience

Required:

• One year or more of clerical experience in accounts payable or similar field.

Professional Skillset

Required:

• Ability to perform routine tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, work quickly, and meet deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Computer proficiency using Outlook, Word, and MS Teams. Basic Excel skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Performs tasks with limited supervision.
