Compass Development is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Caregivers/Resident Assistants (RAs) to support adults with disabilities in a residential setting. As a Resident Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, choice, safety, and personal growth.

What You'll Do

As a Resident Assistant, you will:

• Provide daily support, supervision, and companionship to residents
• Assist residents with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
• Administer medications according to agency policies and training
• Support residents in developing independent living skills, including cooking, laundry, and cleaning
• Implement individualized support plans and accurately document resident progress and behaviors
• Encourage residents to make choices, develop skills, and achieve personal goals
• Assist with meal preparation, cleanup, and following dietary requirements
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living environment
• Monitor resident health, safety, and well-being and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, guardians, and other professionals involved in resident care

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to complete required training and certification requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving role
• Valid driver's license (required for designated shifts)

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs
• Assisting with transfers and mobility support
• Lifting up to 25 pounds regularly
• Occasional assistance with residents requiring higher levels of physical support
• Ability to respond effectively during emergencies

Agency Orientation, Resident Rights, Abuse & Neglect Prevention, Emergency Procedures, OSHA Training, Medication Administration, First Aid, Fire Safety, Behavioral Support Training

Important Expectations

• All shifts are awake shifts.
• Residents require continuous supervision and may never be left alone without management approval.
• Employees must maintain professionalism, reliability, and adherence to agency policies.
