Details Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with 629 staffed beds Labor & Delivery unit caring for high-risk labor, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00) Some weekend shifts required Floating between units required No on-call requirements Staffing ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3 Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Experience with 1:2 patient ratios Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP Epic charting experience required Skilled in active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation/scrub, and hemorrhage/shock management Experience managing patients with pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and preterm labor Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM, internal fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages Assist with high-risk and low-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management and lactation support Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process First-time travelers are welcome to apply given independent L&D experience Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as local Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius Can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time May be required to float between sister facilities within the region American Traveler Job ID P-750036.
