Automation Technician

Responsibilities Perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as set forth in machine manuals and by company policy pertaining to automated equipment. Set up automation equipment for each mold/automation equipment combination, as required. Support production floor(s) by answering emergency equipment‑down requests, including gathering necessary information from equipment operators in a professional manner. Design and manufacture equipment product control devices. Rebuild equipment prime moving hardware as required. Perform preventative maintenance on all automation equipment. Perform job requirements in a safe and professional manner. Complete Lockout Tagout training. Obtain forklift training (required). Keep the entire area of responsibility clean, including the machines and floor. Understand importance of food safety, ISO and plant safety policies. Note: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED and 3‑5 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to perform basic mathematical operations with whole numbers and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Frequent exposure to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
