Are you a data-driven professional with a passion for inventory management and process improvement? We are seeking an Inventory Analyst to support a growing organization in Chicago. This hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives on analyzing inventory trends, optimizing stock levels, and improving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Investigate inventory variances and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Develop and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and turnover.
- Partner with purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and operations teams to support inventory planning.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and root cause analysis.
- Support demand planning and forecasting initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inventory data within ERP systems.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory control and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of inventory analysis, inventory control, supply chain, or operations experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, or similar.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and present findings to stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory forecasting and demand planning.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
- Manufacturing, distribution, retail, or consumer goods experience.
- Experience supporting inventory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
