JOB TITLE Adjunct Faculty – Department of Integrative and Global Studies Location Worcester Department Name Integrative & Global Studies – JM Division Name Worcester Polytechnic Institute – WPI Job Description Summary WPI is seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach evening classes in the Department of Integrative and Global Studies. Positions are created to provide an applicant pool for the program and will be filled on an as‑needed basis. Job Description We need adjunct professors to teach a unique course in social methods where students work in teams to prepare a research proposal for external sponsors. Responsibilities include: Teaching social research methods Guiding students in team goal setting, background research, research methods, critical thinking, writing, and presentation Providing office hours and consultation outside class time Qualifications: Experience in social research and teaching social research methods is highly desirable Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline is desirable but not required Ability to work with students in the evenings (Mondays & Thursdays, 6:30–8:30 p.m.) Additionally, the Global Experience Office (GEO) manages the Global Perspective Program with an Interactive Qualifying Project where student teams work with external sponsors on interdisciplinary projects.
