Senior Specialist Specialty Claims (Aviation) Location: USA -CA-Remote, Chicago, ILL, Plano, TX Work Arrangement: Hybrid Salary Range: $88,000-165,000 The Opportunity Manage operational and technical aspects of Aviation Claims, ensuring efficient, compliant, and customer-focused handling through best practices. This position primarily provides day-to-day leadership and proactive evaluation and oversight of Follow Market claims in alignment with lead market recommendations, claims handling agreements, aviation insurance policies, and regulatory requirements. The role drives continuous improvement to enhance quality, cycle time, and service while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, brokers, and market partners. Responsibilities Investigate, evaluate, collaborate, and communicate with stakeholders on Aviation Follow Market and other Aviation claims. Act as a critical point of escalation on complex Aviation claims, including coverage issues, denials, large losses, and matters requiring alignment with lead market position and claim handling agreements. Identify, analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements across Aviation claims intake, follow decisioning, payments, recoveries, and reporting. Maintain current knowledge of aviation products, policy wordings, and market practices (including lead/follow protocols) to provide direction and respond to issues. Achieve key performance indicators for Aviation Follow Market claims (e.g., cycle time, leakage control, quality, customer service, and market responsiveness) and continuously improve service delivery. Cultivate positive relationships with internal partners, insureds, brokers, adjusters, counsel, and lead market contacts to support timely, consistent Follow Market outcomes. Work Experience Significant exposure to managing high‑risk and/or high‑value claims. Involvement with relevant industry groups. Moderate experience in insurance. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Compensation Package Beyond the base salary, regular full‑time employees will be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
