**POSITION SUMMARY

**

JWC is seeking a CNC Operator to support production across our CNC turning and milling operations. This role is well-suited for candidates with foundational machining knowledge who are ready to build toward full machinist capability in a professional shop environment. You will work alongside experienced machinists, learning setups and processes while keeping production moving.

**RESPONSIBILITIES

**

• Load, unload, and cycle CNC machines following established setup sheets and job travelers

• Perform basic in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges

• Monitor machine operation for abnormal sounds, vibration, or part quality deviations

• Report tooling wear, broken tools, or part quality concerns to the lead machinist or supervisor immediately

• Assist machinists with setup activities including work-holding, tooling changes, and material staging

• Keep machines and work area clean and organized throughout the shift

• Maintain accurate part counts and document production records

• Follow all shop safety policies and use required PPE at all times

**QUALIFICATIONS

**

• At least 1 year of experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment preferred

• Ability to read a basic engineering drawing and recognize dimensional tolerances

• Familiarity with common inspection tools (calipers, micrometers)

• Willingness to learn — this role has a defined growth path toward CNC Machinist

• Attention to detail and the ability to identify parts that do not meet specification

• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain focus during repetitive production tasks

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
