Job Title: Food Service Worker - Part Time (2 Vacancies) Job ID: 1288 Location: Upper Moreland Administration Building Schedule: Part Time, 10 Months Starting Hourly Rate: $17.86 Position Overview Department: Food Services Reports to: Food Service Manager, under direction of Food Service Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) SUMMARY: The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing, facilitating, and maintaining food programs and kitchen/cafeteria areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Food Services (or his/her designee), facilitating the provision of meals to students, including food preparation, food service at meal times, operating a cash register, encouraging healthy eating, and cleanup of equipment and kitchen areas, all according to USDA Child Nutrition Program Regulations, HACCP procedures. Prepare hot and cold food items as assigned by the Food Service Manager. Prepare serving lines and serve meals for each lunch period. Review and complete items assigned by the Food Service Manager, Assistant Manager/Cook, Food Service Director or Assistant Food Service Director, in addition to completing tasks on the Job Task List. Assist with vending operations and special events catered by the Food Service department. Operate cafeteria equipment safely. Sanitize cafeteria area, equipment, and serving lines following HACCP procedures. Operate dishwasher and 3-compartment sink for proper sanitation of all food service small equipment (e.g., lunch trays, hotel pans, sheet pans, utensils). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of weights, measures and portion control. Ability to understand and follow performance directions. Ability to interact with students. Ability to travel to various school district buildings as necessary. Physical ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision and hearing requirements (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus). Effective verbal communication skills. Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and use of chemicals related to washing dishes and dishwasher operation. Ability to work in a moderate to slightly loud environment for up to three hours per day. Background and criminal record check compliance. Adherence to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
