Financial Eligibility Specialist

Administration, Central Cleveland, OH 44102, USA Description The Financial Eligibility Specialist is responsible for determining financial eligibility for clients applying for services across assigned programs. Hourly pay range: $13.72 - $17.67 Responsibilities: Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities. Maintain documentation in compliance with HIPAA, internal policies, and funding source requirements. Communicate eligibility outcomes to clients, program staff, and relevant departments in a timely and professional manner. Track re-certification dates and request updated documentation as needed for continued eligibility. Assist clients in understanding the eligibility process and documentation requirements. Collaborate with intake staff, case managers, and billing or compliance teams as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with care. Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Normal office environment. Reading, writing and finger dexterity to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer and client files required on a frequent basis. Tasks require visual perception and discernment. Organizing and coordinating schedules. Analyzing and interpreting data. Communicating with the public. Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone Requirements: Combination of education and experience normally represented by a High School diploma or GED with 1 year of experience. Working knowledge of medical billing systems preferred. Knowledgeable on insurance and reimbursement process. Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirements for client/patient information. Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be well organized, detail oriented and can maintain confidentiality. Ability to show patience and courtesy when working with people. Good telephone and client/patient relation skills. Ability to work with diverse client population and community organizations as well as staff at all levels.
