Batchelder Elementary School is seeking a part-time General Paraprofessional, at 0.4 FTE or approximately 14 hours/week. This position is two (2.0) days per week, Thursdays and Fridays, for the full school day (roughly 7:45 AM-2:30 PM). Essential Duties Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Provide assistance to students in instructional activities Implement physical assistance to students as required Facilitate establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials Collaborate on school-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch (Pre-K - Gr. 5), recess, bus duty, and /or classrooms Cover general office duties as needed Provide assistance to the principal and staff in the daily management of the school Substitute at all grade levels as requested Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Teacher, and/or Designee Requirements Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently Bachelor's degree preferred At least two (2) years of relevant experience preferred This may include background in education including college and/or work experience Citizenship, residency, or work visa required Additional benefits for this work are outlined in the current North Reading Federation of Paraprofessionals (NRFP) contract.
