Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) Nurse is needed in Springfield, Illinois, for a 12-hour shift position. This role involves working in a Level I trauma center with a focus on general OR and trauma experience. The position requires candidates to bring their Illinois license on the first day and have a minimum of three years of clinical experience. The successful candidate must work a 3x12 days schedule, covering weekends on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Candidates are required to possess a valid BLS certification.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 days shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or in the application process, BLS certification, minimum of 3 years experience as a surgical or trauma nurse, Cerner experience preferred, and compliance with various procedural skills including general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, emergency management, and equipment/instrumentation handling.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner electronic medical record experience.
• Additional Information: Will work across all service lines except cardiovascular (CV). Must have experience with laparoscopic-assisted bariatric cases, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management. Candidates should be comfortable with equipment such as electrosurgical units, Hana tables, fiber optic light sources, and should understand universal protocols, infection control, and blood product administration. Floating within scope is required, with accommodations for hospital or nearby affiliate facilities.
