Youth Ministry Director

We believe youth ministry is central to our calling to reach and disciple the next generation.

Your Role on the Team

You'll provide vision and leadership for middle and high school ministry, helping students encounter Jesus, grow in Christian community, discover their identity and purpose in Christ, and live as people who make a difference. Your key areas of focus:

Spiritual Leadership:

• Lead weekly gatherings with engaging, biblically grounded teaching.
• Develop discipleship environments where students grow in their relationship with Jesus, understand Scripture, and apply biblical truth to their lives.

Student Leadership:

• Identify and develop student leaders with clear pathways for growth.
• Create sustainable opportunities for service, local school outreach, and community engagement that extend beyond the church.

Volunteer & Team Development:

• Recruit, train, and empower adult volunteers, small group leaders, and youth missionaries.
• Build a healthy team culture where leaders multiply ministry through others.

Strategy & Systems:

• Develop cohesive ministry strategy and build sustainable systems.
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and volunteers to help families thrive, while reporting to the Mobilization Director.

Parent Partnership:

• Build trusting relationships with parents and caregivers as essential partners in student discipleship.
• Listen to families and equip parents to disciple their students at home.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a leader who combines spiritual depth, relational warmth, missionary initiative, strong biblical communication, and organizational effectiveness.

Essential Qualities:

• Genuine love for teenagers and ability to build trusting relationships across diverse backgrounds
• Strong Biblical teaching and communication skills with the ability to engage young people
• Experience developing and empowering adult and student leaders
• Ability to develop strategy, build sustainable systems, and follow through on commitments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or developing a youth or student ministry in a church or community setting.
• Formal ministry training, biblical studies coursework, or a degree in youth ministry, theology, or a related field.
• Experience developing volunteer leaders, conducting school/community outreach, or working in diverse, multi-generational ministry environments.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is ultimately about helping students and leaders grow. It means they're growing spiritually, discovering their identity in Christ, serving their communities, and multiplying as leaders. You'll have developed a team of volunteers and student leaders who share ownership of the ministry with you. Parents will be invited to partner in discipling their youth and provide resources for it.

Compensation:

• $36,000 base salary, up to $1,500/month additionally raised through ministry partnerships

Schedule & Expectations:

Youth ministry requires flexibility. This role involves:

• Weekly middle and high school gatherings and staff prayer meetings
• Weekly preparation for teaching, gatherings, and local school outreach
• Regular meetings with adult and student volunteers, youth missionaries, parents, and leaders
• Quarterly strategy meetings and parent engagement opportunities
• Seasonal conferences, retreats, and special events (occasional evenings/weekends)
