Ensures fresh fruits and vegetables are prepared and displayed in accordance with company standards and all regulatory food safety practices. Promotes customer service and sales building practices. Scope of Work Displays a list of typical duties and accountabilities. List is not based on order of priority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with upper management to train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work. Assists with establishing departmental workflow and ensures adequate staff is scheduled. Supports upper management with review of historical data regarding sales, ads and promotions. Co‑manages inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in‑stock levels. May review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data with department manager. Maintains full stock conditions on produce display racks, tables, and shelves. Safely prepares fresh cut fruit for packaging, trays and juices. Slices, weighs, packages, and labels product. Promotes product sales through use of suggestive selling initiatives. Inspects product for quality and maintains quality control and food safety standards. Ensures dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold. Uses sharp tools for cutting fruit. Cuts and trims product to ensure high quality presentation and appearance. Takes precautionary safety measures when using equipment and work tools. Operates pallet jack to unload product from warehouse trucks and reloads trucks with return items. Assists fellow partners and customers by responding to price‑check questions and exchanging and/or locating product. Provides friendly and customer‑service‑oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to customer complaints. Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures. Complies with all company policies and procedures. Practices high sanitary standards for handling raw and uncooked food products. Skills and Education Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack. Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment. Ability to handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property. Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc. Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment. Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes using a variety of educational resources. Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible. Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. Education, Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience required. Minimum of 18 years of age required. Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy. Food Handler certification required. Typically involves on‑the‑job training.
