Quality Control LAB Technician

About the Role Simpson Strong‑Tie is a leading manufacturer, partner, and corporate citizen committed to providing safer, stronger structures for the building industry. This Associate Quality Lab Technician position is based in Gallatin, TN and is a full‑time, non‑exempt role that follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 3:00PM to 11:30PM, with overtime as needed. Responsibilities Inspect incoming materials and parts to ensure vendor quality (60%) Report inspection findings using software programs and create, revise, or update spreadsheets and electronic records (60%) Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes, first piece and final output, and communicate with Engineers to resolve non‑conformances (25%) Contribute and participate in various improvement projects within the plant (10%) Report non‑conformances using the TQC system and follow through to execution of disposition (5%) Desired Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of experience performing product inspections Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to identify solutions to problems and meet productivity standards Works well independently and within a small team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Reliable, punctual attendance and adherence to safety guidelines Mathematical reasoning: ability to perform basic arithmetic, multiplication, and division Comfortable with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) rules, including PPE usage Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear; occasionally to sit Must lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50pounds (and heavier with proper equipment) Operate large equipment and manage frequent position changes Work Environment Work surrounding moving mechanical parts Noise level is loud Potential exposure to dust, heat, cold, wet or humid conditions Benefits Competitive hourly pay ($19.38 – $29.09) Quarterly bonuses or commission Medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, and employee stock purchase plans Paid holidays, vacation, sick days, funeral and jury duty leave, and other paid time off Employee discounts, referral bonuses, charitable contribution matching, education reimbursement, and service awards Equal Opportunity Employer Simpson Strong‑Tie is an equal opportunity employer.
