Monday–Friday 8am - 5pm Schedule + Weekend/Evening On-Call Rotation

Are you skilled in drywall repair and enjoy hands-on maintenance work? AMLI Residential is looking for an experienced Make Ready Technician to join our maintenance team at AMLI West Plano.

For this opening, we are particularly interested in someone with strong drywall repair skills who can confidently patch, repair, texture, and prepare walls for painting. If drywall is one of your strengths and you also have general apartment maintenance or make-ready experience, we want to hear from you.

As a Make Ready Technician, you’ll play an important role in preparing apartment homes for our new residents, completing repairs efficiently while maintaining AMLI's high standards for quality.

What You’ll Do

• Perform drywall repairs, patching, texture matching, and wall preparation for apartment turns.
• Inspect vacated apartments and complete make-ready repairs before new resident move-ins.
• Complete painting, touch-ups, caulking, and other interior finish work.
• Repair or replace doors, locks, screens, hinges, baseboards, shelving, blinds, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and other apartment components.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs as needed.
• Identify additional maintenance issues during apartment turns and communicate needed repairs to the maintenance team.
• Make keys and complete lock changes for new resident move-ins.
• Assist the maintenance team with property upkeep, cleaning, and grounds-related responsibilities.
• Participate in the property's rotating on-call schedule.

What We’re Looking For

Drywall repair experience is especially important for this position. We're looking for someone who can step into apartment homes and independently handle common drywall repairs while also assisting with a variety of make-ready needs.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Strong hands-on drywall repair and finishing skills
• Experience with patching holes, repairing damaged drywall, matching texture, and preparing surfaces for paint
• Apartment make-ready, maintenance, construction, remodeling, or similar repair experience
• Painting and general repair skills
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical repairs
• A strong eye for detail and pride in producing a finished apartment that is truly move-in ready
• Availability for a rotating evening/weekend on-call schedule
• Reliable transportation for on-call responsibilities
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
