Position Overview This position is for an AI/ML Engineer who will tackle challenging problems across multiple domains, including object detection/classification, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and large language models. Our team of researchers and software developers provides mentorship and collaborative development across diverse projects. Responsibilities Work as part of a small team of developers and researchers to implement machine learning algorithms that address a broad set of challenges for our customers. Analyze large multi-domain datasets such as images, text, and graph data to identify statistically relevant features and build models that provide analysts with actionable data. Use cloud services to train and deploy ML models. Review recent publications to apply cutting‑edge concepts in defense and commercial applications. Write technical documentation that supports code, program capabilities, and user guides. Required Qualifications Effective communicator with the ability to write and present technical reports. Experience with Python and at least one of the following Python data science/machine learning libraries: Pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch. Experience with one or more of the following: unsupervised and/or supervised machine learning techniques; statistical analysis–based algorithms; analyzing large datasets and building inference models. BS in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience developing AI/ML applications, data science, or algorithm development. Active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications MS or Ph.D. in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Experience leading an interdisciplinary team of researchers and software developers. Experience in one or more of the following domains: large language models; object detection algorithms such as YOLO and Faster‑RCNN; NLP algorithms such as Transformers and RNNs; applying Transformer architectures to vision; GANs and VAEs; reinforcement learning with OpenAI Gym, RLlib, Stable Baselines; clustering or deep neural networks on real‑world problems; tracking, fusion, and pattern‑of‑life algorithms. Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as Hugging Face and LangChain. Experience with Linux and AWS cloud computing resources such as EC2, S3, Lambda. Experience with C++, Java, or C# and implementing GPU‑accelerated algorithms in Python or C++ using CUDA. Experience with application deployment, virtualization, and containerization. Experience working with remote sensing datasets (e.g., EO/OPIR/SAR images, passive RF). Experience writing proposals. Pay Range $86,000 – $200,000 (actual level and base salary determined on a case‑by‑case basis, considering knowledge, skills, education, and experience). Location This position is based at ARKA’s Aurora, CO campus, situated at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, within a 20‑minute drive of downtown Denver and 15 minutes to Denver International Airport.
