RN Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients in urgent and critical conditions. This role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The RN is expected to maintain strong communication skills and operate effectively in a fast-paced ER environment. An active California RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs continuously.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical observations.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in California.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Proof of negative tuberculosis (TB) screening within the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred, especially in emergency or critical care.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
• Additional certifications related to emergency nursing or critical care.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Special Considerations:

• Must provide proof of recent negative TB test within 12 months prior to contract start.
• Work environment is a busy emergency room requiring quick decision-making and adaptability.
• Compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Scheduling:

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• 36 hours guaranteed weekly.
