Job Details JOB SUMMARY: This position provides general supervision to tenants in supportive housing setting. Oversight includes monitoring and maintaining safety of residents, facility, and grounds; assessing crisis situation calling emergency personnel, assisting rents tenancy skill; providing First AID/CPR as necessary; building rapport and engaging with tenants to promote positive interactions; and light office duties and general maintenance of office areas and storage spaces. Assists supervisor with scheduling, building operations, and database management. This position is located at our 325 E. 3rd Avenue location in Anchorage. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Job Details JOB SUMMARY: This position provides general supervision to tenants in supportive housing setting. Assists supervisor with scheduling, building operations, and database management. This position is located at our 325 E. 3rd Avenue location in Anchorage. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains strict confidentiality and professional boundaries/ethics in all matters concerning residents, staff, and program matters.
- Enforces rules and regulations to ensure safety of residents and staff, and smooth and orderly operation of the program.
- Performs scheduled room checks to assure residences are clean and orderly and to assess the needs of residents; reports back to the immediate supervisor for intervention, as needed.
- Coaches residents regarding completing activities of daily living and life skills such as participating in social events, dressing appropriately, maintaining personal hygiene, eating healthy meals etc.
- Assists with implementation of interventions to promote mental health and/or substance abuse recovery in accordance with the resident's treatment plan/independent living plan/case plan/housing plan/safety plan (as appropriate for the program).
- Achieves accurate data entry for grant reporting and tracking, scans and uploads files and performs other light office duties as required.
- Assists the supervisor with scheduling of shifts and coordinating coverage with on-call staff.
- Ensures common areas, and communal eating area are maintained in a safe, sanitized and orderly fashion, oversees service of catered meals and volunteer activities.
- Reviews purchase orders, invoices and billings for accuracy prior to forwarding to Accounting; correcting as necessary and report discrepancies to supervisor.
- Keeps abreast of medications residents are prescribed encouraging them to take them properly and on time. Reports concerns or problems to supervisor.
- Utilizes de-escalation techniques in accordance with training to communicate effectively with residents who display challenging behaviors. Writes critical incident reports, as needed, for all emergency situations.
- Assesses emergency situations while maintaining own personal safety at all times. Calls the appropriate authorities, and when safe to do so, provides necessary basic First Aid and/or CPR until emergency services personnel arrive.
- Builds rapport and engages positively with residents on an on-going basis in order to promote a communal environment and reinforce positive behavioral changes.
- Transports clients to and from appointments, classes and other outings in agency or personal vehicle as needed.
- Keeps all utility and supply closets clean and organized. Performs periodic inventory of supplies and alerts immediate supervisor when supplies are running low to assure timely replacement.
- Oversee regular fire/emergency drills, makes regular rounds of the facility and grounds and notes results in facilities log, assists with maintaining facility in accordance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Attends shift briefings and weekly staff meetings to review resident status and overall program effectiveness. Meet with supervisor no less than once a month.
- Assists tenants with special activities as assigned by immediate supervisor or the program management staff.
- Packs-up residents belongings who have been discharged from the program.
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Ability to handle intoxicated residents calmly and proficiently.
- Ability to deescalate aggressive or hostile participants.
- Ability to remain alert during shift to respond quickly to resident's needs and emergency situations.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow established policies and procedures.
- Ability pass assigned online training course by the prescribed deadlines.
- Must maintain professional boundaries, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of a diverse audience.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to grasp, type, see, talk, hear, and lift and carry 50 pounds of weight by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner. This position will also be performing physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials.
- Regularly performs sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms for handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Must be in good general health and free from serious physical, mental health and/or substance abuse problems.

EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years related experience.
- Must successfully pass a State of Alaska and federal criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
- Knowledge of alcoholic and/or substance abuse behavior with actual and/or direct experiences; or service to alcoholic and/or substance treatment residents.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to maintain daily work flow, meet deadlines, and produce measurable results.
- Must be optimistic, have a high degree of compassion, perseverance and ethics.
- Employees are expected to remain alert, attentive, and fully engaged in their responsibilities during all working hours. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.
- Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem-solving and decision-making and perform basic assignment with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrated intermediate level of computer skills necessary in order to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Provide Tuberculin (TB) clearance within thirty (30) days of hire at employee's expense.
- Successfully complete, and maintain, CPR and First Aid training within sixty (60) days of hire at employee's expense
- Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.
- Must have a valid driver's License and maintain a valid driver's license throughout the course of employment. Must provide a copy of current driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.
- Must have an insured vehicle, present proof of insurance, and maintain proof of insurance throughout the course of employment.
- AA degree and three (3) years related social services experience including billing for Medicaid.
- Experience working with homeless people, and working with diverse rural/urban Alaska Native population.
- Experience with ServicePoint (AKHIMS) and YARDI.
