Diesel Technicians Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Location: South Yard – 2225 W Lower Buckeye Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85009 Pay: $29.88/hr – $39.25/hr (DOE) Benefits Paid Vacation Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs accrued monthly Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement Medical, Dental & Vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, and 401k retirement benefits Key Responsibilities Ensures buses operate in a safe, comfortable, like-new condition by performing high quality maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repair on all business-related vehicles, to include heavy and light duty equipment. Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Rebuilds engines, transmissions, and other components. Performs road calls, on-the-road repairs, and road tests as needed. Keeps assigned work area clean and organized. Maintains DOT card and Class B driver license. Other related duties as assigned or required. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic. ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, and various heavy equipment engines, transmissions, starting and charging systems, air brake systems, electrical systems, and component overhaul procedures required. Must be able to comprehend parts books and maintenance manuals and accurately complete any necessary reports or other documents. Mechanic’s Tool Set. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. Physical Requirements Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces. Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level. Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
