This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is willing to learn, has a strong work ethic, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The position works alongside experienced staff to develop skills while helping maintain safe, welcoming, and well-functioning parks and facilities. Responsibilities may include supporting daily maintenance and construction activities, inspecting facilities for safety and maintenance needs, assisting with projects and volunteers, and helping ensure work meets safety and building requirements.The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn. You don’t need extensive construction experience - we’re looking for someone who is willing to learn new skills, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working with their hands and as part of a team. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to take direction, and commitment to safety are essential. For more information, click here for our Total Rewards summary. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*** Assist with the construction, maintenance, repair, and restoration of parks and parks facilities, infrastructure, and buildings. Remodel and repair historical buildings. Repair, replace, and maintain weathered exterior and interior materials including log timbers. Maintain historical accuracy.* Assist with the inspection of parks facilities, infrastructure and buildings to identify public safety and maintenance issues. Conduct scheduled maintenance.* Assist with reviewing plan documents, blueprints, and survey sites to ensure building codes and safety requirements are met. Provide input to materials selection.* Train in researching costs for project supplies.* Assist with and support the coordination of project activities with zoning, transportation, and building departments and contractors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and rules.* Other duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS:**Research shows that women and other underrepresented and historically marginalized groups tend to apply only when they check every box in the posting.
