Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient evaluations, encompassing physical examinations and thorough reviews of medical histories
- Assist in identifying and diagnosing surgical conditions by interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results
- Collaborate intimately with surgeons to develop and implement personalized surgical treatment plans
- Provide active intraoperative assistance, including preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and passing surgical instruments during procedures
- Offer exceptional pre- and post-operative care, which includes medication administration, wound management, discharge planning, and patient education
- Master's degree obtained from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- A surgical emphasis in clinical rotations is strongly preferred
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certification needed
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- Strong understanding of surgical principles and maintaining sterile techniques
- Proven capability to interpret diagnostic tests and aid in complex clinical decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to excel in high-pressure environments, particularly during surgical procedures
