Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Job Summary Provides critical care nursing to pediatric patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Monitors and manages complex, high-acuity conditions in infants, children, and adolescents, collaborating closely with the pediatric care team and families. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) Minimum 1-2 years of pediatric or critical care nursing experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required) Critical Care Registered Nurse - Pediatric (CCRN-Pediatric) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Performs continuous assessment and monitoring of critically ill pediatric patients. Manages ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication administration. Recognizes and responds to rapid changes in pediatric patient condition, including codes. Collaborates with physicians, respiratory therapy, and child life specialists on plan of care. Provides age-appropriate education and emotional support to patients and families.
