Qualifications:

• Current State of Texas Special Education Certification required
• Previous experience working in self-contained Life Skills classrooms
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs, K–6
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proven track record of fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction in a self-contained Life Skills classroom, adapting lessons to accommodate individual strengths and needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary for optimal growth
• Foster a positive, engaging classroom culture focused on respect, independence, and achievement
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on progress and ongoing support strategies
