*PLAINTIFF PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY* *Pre-Litigation & Litigation* | Primarily Remote | West Los Angeles, CA Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year Job Type: Full-time *ABOUT THE FIRM* Founded in 2001, McGee Lerer Ogrin is a Southern California plaintiff-side law firm devoted exclusively to personal injury law. The firm represents clients in serious injury, catastrophic injury, and wrongful-death matters and has a track record of multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements. We are seeking an experienced plaintiff personal injury attorney to work across both our pre-litigation and litigation departments. The attorney will work closely with the firm’s partners, as well as five case managers and a full litigation support team. Our team is highly collaborative, with attorneys and staff regularly sharing knowledge, discussing strategy, and supporting one another throughout the life of a case. This is a primarily remote position. Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of West Los Angeles and be available for court appearances, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and other in-person obligations as needed. *RESPONSIBILITIES* * Collaborate with case managers on pre-litigation case development, strategy, liability, damages, claim valuation, and settlement * Review case files, medical records, evidence, and settlement demands * Handle all aspects of personal injury litigation, including preparing and filing lawsuits * Propound and respond to written discovery and draft meet-and-confer correspondence * Take and defend depositions, including preparing clients for depositions and defense medical examinations * Conduct legal research and draft motions, oppositions, replies, and other legal documents * Attend court hearings and handle oral argument * Negotiate and settle claims during both pre-litigation and litigation * Prepare for and participate in mediations * Handle minor’s compromises * Assist with trial preparation * Work directly with partners, case managers, and litigation support staff to move cases toward resolution *REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS* * Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California * At least four years of experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury matters * Experience with personal injury pre-litigation and litigation * Experience propounding and responding to written discovery * Experience taking and defending depositions * Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and law-and-motion practice * Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple deadlines * Must reside locally and be available for in-person case obligations throughout the greater Los Angeles area as needed *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* * Experience preparing personal injury cases for mediation * Interest in developing trial preparation and courtroom skills; prior trial experience is welcome but not required * Experience handling minor’s compromises * Membership in the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles *COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS* * Annual salary of $175,000–$225,000, commensurate with experience * Primarily remote work structure * 401(k) * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * Paid time off * Professional development assistance * Hands-on mentorship and direct access to experienced partners *TO APPLY* Please submit a résumé describing your plaintiff-side personal injury experience.
