The Energy Associate directly supports scale up by leading the development of processes and infrastructure for the powerplant engineering team. The main responsibilities of this role would be working directly with the engineering teams to understand pain points, work to further professionalize the organization, improve decision quality, and support executive and cross department communication. This is a fast-paced strategy and operations role that blends strategy, engineering, and product management into one, with significant ownership from day one. This role reports to the Engineering Manager on the powerplant engineering team. RequirementsResponsibilitiesDecision Quality: help make high quality data-driven decisions under ambiguity, including serving as a sounding board and thought partner on high impact opportunities ExecutiveCommunication: prepare clear, concise updates that translate technical and operational information for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Financial Modeling: build and maintain financial models that support engineering design decision-making, in coordination with Strategy and engineering teams Strategy and OperationsSupport: coordinate with engineering leadership to establish frameworks and best practices for use across the organization. Process Improvement: identify knowledge gaps and develop tools, checklists, and references to continuously improve design and execution processes QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree required; economics, finance, energy policy, or STEM preferred. 2-4+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting, energy development, power markets, project finance, or a related field. Strong analytical rigor, with comfort building and maintaining models, trackers, and processes Comfort working with large datasets. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical material accurately for othersLocationFervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX, with growing offices in Golden, CO, Reno, NV, and Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at the Houston office is preferred.
