Senior Investment Accountant

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial real estate organization, is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a critical role in the accounting, reporting, and analysis of a diverse investment portfolio, including real estate investment entities, joint ventures, and fund structures. Reporting directly to the Controller, the ideal candidate will bring strong investment accounting experience, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement. What You\'ll Do Manage the full-cycle accounting and general ledger activities for various investment entities, including real estate funds, employee investment vehicles, and joint ventures. Prepare and review journal entries related to investment transactions, valuations, equity method investments, and other investment activities. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with supporting schedules. Compile and analyze consolidated profit and loss reporting across multiple investment structures. Reconcile investment accounting records and ensure accuracy between general ledger and supporting subledgers. Review and analyze financial reports received from third-party investment managers and business partners. Partner with the tax team to maintain accurate tax basis capital account reporting. Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to an investment accounting team member. Assist with onboarding and implementation of newly formed entities, investments, and ownership structures. Support investor reporting processes and ensure accurate financial information is available through investor reporting platforms. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Collaborate cross-functionally to provide accounting guidance and support on investment-related matters. Participate in special projects, reporting requests, and other initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 3+ years of investment accounting experience within real estate, private equity, financial services, or related industries. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required. Strong understanding of investment accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Experience with accounting software systems and advanced Microsoft Office proficiency. Yardi experience is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Why Consider This Opportunity?
