Make a meaningful difference supporting students and families as a contract Social Worker within a dynamic school environment near Auburn, ME. Your expertise in providing social-emotional and behavioral support will be central to helping students reach their fullest potential and fostering a positive school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience in a school-based or youth-focused setting is highly valued
- Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
- Exceptional ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators
- Compassionate communicator, skilled in student advocacy and relationship-building
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver group and individual counseling services addressing emotional, behavioral, and social issues
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve classroom engagement and attendance
- Conduct student assessments and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Partner with educators, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Facilitate workshops or presentations on social-emotional topics for students, staff, and families
- Connect students and families to community resources as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal standards
