Registered Dietitian

The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients nutrition diagnosis. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care/interventions and consulting with other members of the health care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Practice (Nutrition Assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, Nutrition Intervention/Plan of Care and Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Professional Performance (Quality In Practice, Competency/Accountability, Provisions of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Applications of Knowledge and Utilization and Management of Resources).
• Uses Nutrition Care Process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment.
• Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition.
• Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care.
• Completes yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned.
• Uses Evidence Based Practice in patient care.
• Serves as a preceptor to dietetic interns.

Less than 1 yearLicensed Dietician (KS) - Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, Licensed Dietician (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Registered Dietitian - Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)Bachelor's Degree
